For the past three Holiday Seasons, the Twice the Gift store has provided many area nonprofit organizations the opportunity to raise money by selling merchandise and Share Cards to the public in a retail venue.

 Last year Twice the Gift moved to the IDS Center and sales grew  by more than 400 customers and sales topped $92,000! To continue to grow and evolve Twice the Gift would like to add even more diversity to the product-line and partners.

 Twice the Gift was the vision of the Pohlad Family Foundation who developed the concept of a retail store that could support a number of area nonprofit organizations and their holiday products and gift items. Partnership Resources, Inc.became involved with Twice the Gift and now runs the store. The partnership made sense for a few reasons:

• It as a venue to sell gifts and holiday products in a prestigious downtown retail location that was a terrific opportunity for us. We support adults with developmental disabilities and many of them earn money by the art they create and the products we sell with their images, such as greeting and holiday cards, bags, sports bottles and prints. Twice the Gift has 300 quality products, both local and global.

• “Partnerships” is in our name. We have been partnering with other organizations, profit and nonprofit to find vocational opportunities for our clients and to help build a stronger community for 50 years.

• Sales of our products were great right from the start. Sales have continued to grow for us at Twice the Gift. In fact, our product sales more than doubled this year than last. We are thrilled.

 Where Twice the Gift is headed in 2010:

• Twice the Gift will open even earlier this year, probably September.
• Twice the Gift is looking for more diverse products and at a variety of price points.
• Twice the Gift is looking to partner with giveMN.org to assist us with our Share Card online donation program. We are also looking to partner on other areas such as marketing.

Applications are being accepting until March 15,2010. Once the applications are reviewed, potential partners will be contacted within a month or so. The application deadline is earlier this year because Twice the Gift is considering opening before October.

Together we believe that 2010 will be the year that we take Twice the Gift to the next level of being a multi-dimensional retail venue.
