Last year Twice the Gift moved to the IDS Center and sales grew by more than 400 customers and sales topped $92,000! To continue to grow and evolve Twice the Gift would like to add even more diversity to the product-line and partners.
Twice the Gift was the vision of the Pohlad Family Foundation who developed the concept of a retail store that could support a number of area nonprofit organizations and their holiday products and gift items...

Who needs sleep? In just 29 days, 16 hours and counting... a group of self proclaimed nerds will gather to make an incredible impact on the nonprofit sector at the Nerdery Overnight Website Challenge. Appropriately sponsored by Red Bull, Peace Coffee and Chipotle, “the nerds” will gather for 24 hours to create a brand new website for 16 nonprofits in Minnesota. Ultimately one will be named the best website, but clearly all 16 nonprofits, as well as the nerds, are the real winners (even if they end up with a burrito coffee hangover).
We've posted the Feb. 10 webinar "Destination GiveMN" here for your use. It gives an overview of GiveMN, some tips for navigating and setting up your organization's page and getting the most out of GiveMN. Special thanks to Target for sponsoring the webinar.

MSNBC's Keith Olbermann mentions the call for aid on the Cheyenne River Sioux reservation in South Dakota and gives a plug for Razoo.com.
When Catherine Jordan from the Bush Foundation reached out to me to see what we could do for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, I was appalled. Appalled with myself that I had not heard a word about a terrible natural disaster that had ravaged an already vulnerable community less than 500 miles away from home. While it is no longer a life and death situation, thousands of people still do not have heat or drinkable water over three weeks after the ice storm hit their reservation. The continued bitter cold weather has made recovery a slow process. This is an enormous blow to an already struggling people - 80 percent of those who live on the reservation are unemployed...
The news on the philanthropic foundation front in Minnesota isn't rosy, but it's not as pessimistic as last year. And that's a relief for the state's many nonprofits, which rely on those foundations for much of the funding in their grass-roots efforts to help those in need.
Still, state budget woes are expected to hit hard on the state's neediest residents - those whom the nonprofit world spends much of its time and money - and there's no way the philanthropic community can make up the difference...
(Saint Paul, MN - January 29, 2010)—The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe has declared a state of emergency after a severe ice storm cut electricity and water across the reservation in north central South Dakota. Ongoing frigid conditions hinder recovery from this disaster and raise the potential for loss of life. The situation is complicated by the reservation’s remote nature, spreading over more than 2.7 million acres. The Bush Foundation is offering $50,000 to match contributions for emergency relief. GiveMN features giving opportunities for this effort to the South Dakota Community Foundation and Native Americans in Philanthrophy.
