The smart way for Minnesotans to discover, support and engage with charities.
Give to the Max Day is Thursday, November 15, 2012.
Give to the Max Day was created in 2009 to increase giving to nonprofit organizations across the state and move more giving online. It is a day for Minnesotans to come together to raise as much money as possible for nonprofits and schools in 24 hours – starting at midnight on November 15, 2012 through midnight on November 16, 2012. By engaging as many donors as possible to give to their favorite Minnesota charities in one day – Give to the Max Day — GiveMN.org is showcasing Minnesota’s unparalleled generosity to the world! During last year's Give to the Max Day, $13.4 million was raised to benefit Minnesota nonprofit organizations. And, a record 47,534 donors logged on to GiveMN.org to donate to their favorite Minnesota charity. In 2012 we hope to help thousands of nonprofits and schools raise millions of dollars again!
Golden Tickets are back by popular demand! PLUS, because we're launching a new initiative adding K-12 public school fundraising on GiveMN, we’ve added seperate Golden Tickets for K-12 public schools. That means a person who donates to a nonprofit AND a person who donates to a K-12 public school will be randomly selected to have $1,000 added to their donations each hour. At the end of the 24-hour event, we’ll draw one nonprofit donor and one K-12 public school donor to each receive a Super-sized Golden Ticket, adding $10,000 to their donations!
Enter your Give to the Max Day fundraising plan and show us how it exemplifies a creative and innovative approach. The winning entry’s strategy for Give to the Max Day will differentiate the campaign from others and will be an integral part of the organization’s overall annual fundraising plan. All strategies should adhere to ethical standards of fundraising.
The winning entry will be announced on Give to the Max Day, receive one of the GiveMN livestream interview slots and will be recognized in all post Give to the Max Day outreach efforts. In addition, the Most Creative Give to the Max Fundraising Campaign Award, along with a $500 check, will be presented to the winning organization at the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Minnesota Chapter National Philanthropy Day luncheon on November 16 at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center. The winner will be offered two complimentary tickets to the luncheon and must have a representative present to receive the award.

We are again encouraging your organization to offer a match on donations on Give to the Max Day. GiveMN will not be matching donations. Watch our video "HOW TO: Set up a Match on GiveMN."
Once again we are making plans to broadcast video live via the Internet (the live stream) with the help of our friends at The UpTake.org. We plan to have a limited number of time slots open for nonprofits and schools to join us and explain to live stream audience how donations will further their important work. Register NOW! We will conduct a lottery drawing from all registrations in a few weeks to randomly determine which organizations will get one of the limited time slots between 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Mall of America.
(These webinars will also be archived on the GiveMN Blog with audio)
