Give to the Max Day was created in 2009 to increase giving to nonprofit organizations across the state and move more giving online. It is a day for Minnesotans to come together to raise as much money as possible for nonprofits and schools in 24 hours – starting at midnight on November 14, 2013 through midnight on November 15, 2013. By engaging as many donors as possible to give to their favorite Minnesota charities in one day – Give to the Max Day — is showcasing Minnesota’s unparalleled generosity to the world! During last year's Give to the Max Day, $16.3 million was raised to benefit Minnesota nonprofit organizations and schools. And, a record 53,339 donors logged on to to donate to their favorite Minnesota charity. In 2013, we will help thousands of nonprofits and schools raise millions of dollars again!

We will award prize grants to the organizations that receive the most contributed dollars during Give to the Max Day in these categories:
  • Main Leaderboard - ALL nonprofits AND schools are automatically eligible to compete in this category, including colleges and universities.
  • Medium Nonprofits Leaderboard - For 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations with budgets of more than $100,000 and less than $1 million based on their IRS Form 990 revenue.
  • Small Nonprofits Leaderboard - For 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations with budgets of $100,000 or less based on their IRS Form 990 revenue.
  • Greater Minnesota Leaderboard - For all nonprofits and schools outside of the seven-county metro area.
The four leaderboards will share the same prize structure:
1st place - $10,000
2nd place - $7,500
3rd place - $5,000
4th place - $2,500
5th place - $1,000
6th through 10th place - $500

Two Golden Tickets each hour!

Golden Tickets are back by popular demand! Like last year, K-12 public schools will be eligible for separate Golden Tickets each hour. That means a person who donates to a nonprofit AND a person who donates to a K-12 public school will be randomly selected to have $1,000 added to their donations each hour. At the end of the 24-hour event, we’ll draw one nonprofit donor and one K-12 public school donor to each receive a Super-sized Golden Ticket, adding $10,000 to their donations!

NEW! - Power Hours

Nonprofits and schools that raise the most money during each of five power hours will win a $1,000 prize grant. The organization from each leaderboard category (all nonprofits and schools, medium nonprofits, small nonprofits, and Greater Minnesota) and the school that raises the most from 2:00-2:59 a.m., 5:00-5:59 a.m., 5:00-5:59 p.m., 6:00-6:59 p.m., and 11:00-11:59 p.m. will each win a $1,000 prize grant, for a total of $5,000 in prize grants each power hour!
